November Is the Most Magical Time to Visit Disney

While there is never truly a bad time to visit Disney, November is certainly one of the best times of the year to experience all the magic that the parks have to offer.

Starting on November 1st, the parks turn into magical Christmas wonderlands. Festive decorations go up everywhere! Characters start wearing seasonal costumes. There is holiday merchandise in all the shops. And best of all, Cinderella's castle is given a holiday makeover by Anna and Elsa, so that each night it looks like the castle is completely covered in ice!

The Disney hotels are also completely transformed in November thanks to a myriad of holiday decorations that get put up in each hotel. Some of the larger hotels even receive giant life-sized gingerbread houses in their lobbies—the one in the Grand Floridian is so big that it is actually a small shop that sells gingerbread!

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party also starts in early November. This is a special ticketed event, which means you do need to purchase a separate ticket for this event. However, once you have bought your ticket, you are entitled to enter the Magic Kingdom in the late afternoon and experience all that the park has to offer until 7:00, when the party starts.

And once the party starts, you'll be glad you bought a ticket! There are several amazing holiday-themed shows that happen on the stage in front of the castle. And while the shows really are worth watching, there are also special character meet and greets happening all over the park. And by special, I mean that there are rarely seen characters available to meet, AND the characters are often in special holiday costumes. For example, Santa Goofy often makes an appearance, along with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy, all dressed up in their holiday best.

As you make your way around the park, meeting characters, and hopping on rides, you can also sample some delicious sweets and treats that are provided for free to all the party guests. Who doesn't love hot chocolate and a cookie to nibble on while they're waiting for their favourite ride, or to meet a special character?

But the best part of this holiday event has to be the parade! The floats are absolutely stunning! And they are filled with tons of the most amazing characters! And of course, what would a holiday parade be without a visit from Santa? That's right, there is a magnificent Santa float to end off the parade.

Check Out the Other Parks Too!

The Magic Kingdom isn't the only park that gets special holiday treatment. The other parks, in addition to being decked out with holiday decorations, have loads of special holiday events too.

A new favourite is the Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam show that takes place at Hollywood Studios. This event is free, as long as you have purchased park admission for that day.

So what is Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam? It's the most amazing movie/light/fireworks show you can imagine, all projected on the facade of the Chinese Theatre. It is definitely worth waiting to see if you happen to be in the park that day!

Deals Abound at Disney During November

Perhaps the best reason to visit Disney during the month of November is for all the deals that can be had!

During the first few weeks of November, before American Thanksgiving, not many kids have school holidays, and most adults are saving up any vacation time for Thanksgiving or Christmas. So the parks are often not very busy during this time. Not only does this often mean shorter wait times for rides, it also means there are often great deals on offer to try and entice more people to come to the parks.

Before you travel, be sure to see if your hotel has added any special holiday discount packages that you can use to your advantage. Also, check to see if there are any discounted ticket packages , such as the one often on offer at this time for Canadian residents.

But the best deal of all that often comes out at this time is the free meal plan offer. This deal provides a certain level of meal plan if you book and stay at a Disney hotel. Meal plans are a fantastic way to make the most of your vacation at Disney! Meal plans are a very cost effective way to enjoy character dining. And since the meal plan is free, you will likely be enticed to try several different restaurants you wouldn't otherwise have chosen.
