You can take a bus or taxi from the airport to Piazzale Roma and then hop on the Vaporetto. Your accommodations are located such that you could get off at either the San Stae or the San Silvestro stops. I would ask for specific walking directions from both stops. For the Vaporetto, you would take Line 1.
Another option would be to take the Alilaguna Water Bus directly from the airport and get off at the San Stae stop. You should take the Orange Line as this is the only line that goes up the Grand Canal. This option eliminates the transfer from bus or taxi to Vaporetto at Piazzale Roma, so in that respect, it's easier to do.
The last option would be a private water taxi. This is convenient in that they will take you from the airport to as close to your accommodations as possible. Private water taxies are smaller, and they can fit into narrow canals and get you very close to where you are staying. But, expect to pay a hefty price for this option.
If it's a nice day I would opt for the Alilaguna Orange Line. The ride across the lagoon will give you a nice perspective of Venice, and you'll get to ride down a portion of the Grand Canal. The cost for Alilaguna is about the same as taking the bus and Vaporetto, so there isn't a big difference there.
