As a parent, I know how hard it can be to travel with children. Luckily, I've found some tricks to make it easier.
Travelling in large groups is difficult, especially when you're taking children with you. Prepping for a trip can be very fun and exciting for kids, but it can be tough for adults. This is because they have a long list of things that they have to consider when planning a trip, from finding an ideal destination suited for everyone coming along to planning meals and making packing lists.
As a parent, I understand this struggle. Hence, I've made a list of the things that you can try for a more convenient and enjoyable travel experience.
1. Make an itinerary.
Making an itinerary can be very time-consuming, especially if you're travelling for three or more days. However, planning activities to try and places to visit ahead of time will save you from wasting time trying to figure out where to go next during the trip itself.
When you make your own itinerary, avoid compressing too many activities in one day. Always consider the distance between each location or attraction you are going to visit, as well as the activities you are going to try. Doing too much in one day can actually be more energy consuming for adults than it is for the young ones. If you don't plan ahead of time, you won't have enough time or energy to enjoy the trip as much as the kids do.
2. Create a checklist of things to bring.
Ask all the adults who are joining the trip to make a checklist of the things that they have to bring. Maximise your packing capacity by distributing items to different pieces of luggage. Make another list of what's inside each piece of baggage and check if you have everything you need.
Before leaving, take some time to recheck the contents of each bag to make sure you did not forget anything. If you plan on buying souvenirs, you can also make a list of the things that you want to buy from the place you're visiting.
3. Make accommodation reservations ahead of time.
When you're travelling in big groups, it can be difficult to find a room that can accommodate every member of the family. If you're travelling with a lot of children (more than the number of adults) it will be far more convenient if you book your accommodations ahead of time.
I'm sure the young ones will have more energy after getting enough sleep in a comfortable bed. It will also help the adults to rest properly after a long day of watching over the children, as well as prepare them for tomorrow's adventure. You can also book reservations for some popular restaurants to avoid having to wait in long lines.

These are definitely good tips. My husband and I do want to travel with our 3 kids. I'll definitely keep these suggestions in mind, when we do travel.

These are good tips. I had a friend who likened travelling with 4 children to preparing for a military campaign.
