Mom Perfectly Nails the Brutal Reality of Being on Vacation with a Toddler

She described it perfectly!

When we're talking about traveling with young kids — especially toddlers — we're using the word "vacation" lightly. After all, going on vacation implies that you're going somewhere for a less stressful experience than you have in your daily life, while traveling with a toddler can sometimes mean opening yourself up to more stress than you'd have at home. We're not saying it's not still fun, it's just a totally different experience than the one you had pre-kids!

If this is sounding all too familiar to you, so will this TikTok video from @soph.cm1. She somehow nailed exactly how brutal it feels to have spent all of your money giving your child a magical vacation experience, only for it to turn out not so magical at all.

The video features footage of her daughter laying face down on what appears to be a boat, not having any fun at all on this trip that her mom so carefully planned for her.

"POV: Your parents take you on a holiday to a beautiful tropical oasis. You wake up to a buffet breakfast each morning with all the fruit, bread, and pancakes you could ever wish for. You spend all day at the beach and eating ice cream. But you're two, so you're blind with rage," she wrote.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up — especially the "blind with rage" part. Why are they always so angry?!

As a mom of a two year old myself, this is hitting a little too close to home. I would never trade the memories that my daughter and I make while traveling (the good ones, anyway), but boy, does it take a lot of work to get there! It's good to hear that I'm not alone in this.
