Hungry Traveler Evaluates Disney World's 'Worst' Restaurant
A crucial part of Disney World's magic is the incredible food served all throughout their parks and resorts. From street snacks to fine dining, Disney World has no shortage of out-of-this-world eats. But among all that amazing food, are there any options that fall short?
Many Disneygoers claim that Tony's Town Square, Magic Kingdom's "Lady and the Tramp"- themed eatery, is the worst restaurant in Disney World. But is it really as bad as people say? Hungry traveler @matthungryagain decided to find out for himself.
Evaluating what Matt shared here, it seems that Tony's, while imperfect, isn't quite as bad as some make it sound. He mentioned a bit of a wait, but that's pretty typical for most sit-down restaurants at Disney World. As for the food itself, Matt had a knockout appetizer, a 'meh' entree, and a delish dessert. Is Tony's putting out Michelin-star stuff? No. However, it probably still wouldn't be considered "bad" by most people's standards.
Commenters joined in with their own feelings about the restaurant, and to be fair, some did report having genuinely bad experiences with the restaurant. "It gave me food poisoning and served me undercooked chicken," said @vic_annette. "Their spaghetti and meatballs was terrible- I would never go back," claimed @christinemrowe67.
Yet despite these objections, a larger percentage of those commenting expressed favorable opinions of Tony's. "Tony’s is one of the best. I stand by it. The bread service, burrata, bellinis. All perfect," @alrose234 defended their love for the Italian eatery. "I had the calamari there many years ago and it was some of the best I've ever had," declared @bryanjames877.
One aspect customers appreciated was the restaurant's ability to accommodate special dietary restrictions, including offering Impossible meat alternatives for some dishes. "I have a red meat allergy from a tick bite and being able to order spaghetti and meatballs (Impossible meat) almost made me cry! Felt normal again!" praised @jessicat778.
So is Tony's Town Square the worst restaurant in Disney World? We doubt it's their worst, but it's safe to say it's not one of their best, and it has its share of issues and shortcomings. That being said, that ranking is relative to the restaurant's stiff culinary competition at Disney. We believe it still stands head and shoulders above what most people would consider a "subpar" restaurant, and overall, Tony's serves up enough good grub to win over plenty of fans!
