Couple's Off-the-Grid Life in a Tiny Floating Home Is the Definition of Peace

What an ideal way to escape the world.

Daily stress can get seriously overwhelming, so it's no surprise that many of us have daydreamed about what a relief "going off the grid" would be. Living surrounded by nature, where not even the internet can reach you, letting the nonstop grind of work and school and responsibilities just disappear into thin air. Sure, we can go on vacation and unplug for a few days, but it's not practical for most of us to peace out forever.

One couple has managed to do just that, though... and after seeing the video they shared on TikTok @keepingafloatwiththejoneses. They're living in a tiny floating home, and they're making us wish we could do the same!

This couple is living in a "floating cabin" in North Carolina, living life "off the grid" for real with their dog, and shared a clip of what that looks like in the winter (spoiler alert: very chilly). In this video, we can see them chopping wood to build a fire inside to keep warm, and inside the house, everything seems so peaceful and cozy. From the snow falling outside to the little duck floating in the water outside of the house, this is what a lot of people imagine when they picture "bliss."

If you're interested in this kind of lifestyle, this couple has been sharing their entire process on their TikTok account — including videos from when they were first renovating the house, a project they started in 2021. Now, it's complete, and it looks like they're loving their new home, as tiny as it is.

Not to mention the fact that people in the comments are super jealous (and so are we).

"I am really loving the return to the small things in life type of contentment," one person wrote.

Anyone else wanna move to a floating cabin and never look back?
