Senior Woman's Epic Dancing on Cruise Ship Has People Going Wild
Some people are content to use their cruise vacations to veg out, get a tan, and pack on a few vacation pounds from all the extra food and booze. No judgments here if that's how you roll - cruises are primarily for chillaxing, after all. However, with all the on-deck dance competitions that many cruises put on, some cruisers like to take the opportunity to bust a move instead!
While enjoying a chill at-sea adventure on the Carnival Magic, cruisers Brad and Chi got to witness one of the "dance-off" matches that Carnival is known to put on. There were plenty of brave volunteers who went out there to strut their stuff, but none of them could hold a candle to "Mrs. Joanne," a senior woman who, despite claiming that she "couldn't dance," blew everyone away!
Excuse me- who said they didn't know how to dance again? Surely not the woman seen in Brad and Chi's (aka @adventures_in_retirement's) video. Mrs. Joanne was probably just being modest in saying that, because the moment she brought out that twirl/side-step combo, the audience was on her side!
Once Mrs. Joanne got going, there was no stopping her. She was on the beat, eating up the dance floor, striking pose after pose... this dance competition had a clear winner from the start. And if you thought Mrs. Joanne used up all her moves on the dance-off, guess again. In a follow-up video taken a few days later, Brad and Chi caught Mrs. Joanne busting it down to the Sugar Hill Gang and Kurtis Blow during the ship's "White Hot Night Party." I am in total awe of this spry senior citizen - I'm at the very least half her age, and I gotta stretch before I dance like that!
Joanne Is the Hype Woman We All Need
I'm always hyped when I see senior citizens like Mrs. Joanne living it up in their golden years. I hate the notion many seem to have that you can't travel, party, or cut loose after a certain age. As long as you're in good health and good spirits, there's no reason you shouldn't be living your best life- and breaking out some solid dance moves in the bargain!
Joanne had people hyped on board her Carnival cruise, and online viewers weren't any less energetic in the comments.
"This young lady is a vibe for sure. She definitely got some rizz," praised @davep119
"If this ain't me when I grow up, then take me now," said @auglennart.
"Grandma said she bringing that Zumba class to that ship! Yasss," @kandi0990 cheered on Joanne's red-hot moves.
Honestly, if these are the kind of moves you get from taking Zumba lessons, sign me up. I aspire to be on Joanne's level when I reach her age, and if her dance moves are any indication, I've got my work cut out for me!
