Little-Known Secret About Private Jets Might Make Them More Accessible

Turns out they aren't just for the rich and famous.

As much of a hassle as flying can be sometimes, it's hard not to feel grateful when we get to do it — if we're traveling somewhere fun, of course. It's pretty cool to be able to hop on a flight and end up anywhere in the world hours later... even when that means sitting in a commercial plane, surrounded by strangers who aren't always the most polite. At those moments, many of us are probably dreaming about what it would be like to travel on a private jet instead.

And while that might be a pipe dream for most of us who aren't sitting around with hundreds of thousands of extra dollars to spare, it might be a tad bit more accessible than we think. In a TikTok video, @flyingwithmonica shared how you can save money flying on private jets — yes, really.

According to what the OP says in the video, more than 40% of private jets fly with no passengers, which is obviously a waste of resources (and a strain on the environment) and if you can help solve that problem, you can save some big bucks.

"The empty aircraft flies from one place to another to pick up passengers," says the video over footage of a private jet with no passengers inside. "These are called empty legs and you can book them for a very low price."

You can use sites like Jettly to find these flights, but be aware: The discount is off of the price of the private jet service, so you'll likely still be paying more than you would if you were flying commercial. But if you have the money to spend, it's a deep discount from chartering your own jet.

This is worth looking into if you want to have the real private jet experience. It'll cost you... but it'll cost you less than it would have otherwise!
