Woman Shares What Happens When Men Think They Can Fix a Flight Delay
Not to say that all men are the same, but if you have a dad, husband, brother, or friend in your life who gives off big Home Depot energy, this is all about to sound very familiar to you. Whatever's wrong, these types of dudes always think that they can handle it, whether they can or not (and it's hard not to love them for trying). Whether it's a plumbing issue, a problem with a car, or literally any experience that would allow them to flex their MacGyver skills, they're all about it — and you'd better not hire anyone to solve the problem before they've taken a crack at it!
Apparently, this also encompasses the things that are totally out of their control, like flight delays — or at least, that's what it looks like in this TikTok video that is going to be very relatable to anyone who knows the kind of guy I'm talking about.
In this video that Emma Elizabeth Fish recently shared on the app, we can see a group of men all gathered around a window at a gate at their airport after finding out about the flight delay, all assuming a similar "dad mode" stance — and the Home Depot audio playing as the soundtrack for the clip is really just the icing on the cake.
"Weather is bad. All flights are delayed. American Airlines can't do anything about it. But you know who can? This group of men who all just rushed to the window to come up with a plan," she wrote, adding, "It's the fact that they all intrinsically decided to gather there at the same time."
The only thing you can really do in the event of a flight delay is wait it out or book another flight that might get you out sooner, but if weather's a factor (like it was this day), waiting really is your only choice. This didn't stop these men, though, and if they're anything like my dad and husband, I can guarantee that probably more than one of them believed that they were totally capable of safely flying the plane through the storm themselves!
So many commenters could relate, too. One person wrote, "The dad stance is a universal language," while another commented, "I saw a PILOT do the dad stance. It runs deep."
Here's hoping their flight delay wasn't too long, or one of these guys may have started learning how to become a pilot themselves...
