'Christmas Town USA' in North Carolina Is Like Walking Into a Hallmark Movie

They really know how to capture the spirit of the season!

The last of the Thanksgiving leftovers have been devoured, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons have deflated, and December is just around the corner. With that, we move into the final stretch of the holiday season. Across the country, households are beginning to put up festive Christmas light displays that would put Clark Griswold to shame!

But few towns in the country deck the halls quite as much as a little place that's affectionately come to be known as "Christmas Town USA." This small North Carolina town always does it up big for the holidays, and visiting during December is like walking onto a Hallmark movie set!

Seriously, no exaggerations- this is a Hallmark Christmas movie town brought to life! Vlogger @nctripping introduces us to McAdenville, a little town just west of Charlotte, North Carolina. Throughout most of the year, McAdenville is just like any other small town, but during the holiday season, dozens of households and businesses in town get into the Christmas spirit by decorating to the max!

McAdenville transforms into Christmas Town USA every year from December 1st through till after Christmas, and every year, hundreds of thousands of spectators visit during those few weeks. McAdenville is one of North Carolina’s best-known Christmas attractions, and one of the most famous Christmas towns in the country. According to the official Christmas Town website, visitors can expect to see evergreens decorated with over half a million lights, along with over a hundred festively decorated homes and a large nativity scene in the center of Christmas Town.

So, how do you visit if you want to check out Christmas Town during the holidays? According to their website, there's no charge to park, walk, or drive through town (though prepare for lots of traffic in and around town- this place is always a hot spot in December). The locals just ask that you stay on the sidewalks and respect their private residences. You can also support Christmas Town by visiting McAdenville's local businesses, including Mona's Boutique and Gifts and Terra Mia Restaurant.

McAdenville really captures the spirit of the holiday season, and has drawn in millions of visitors over the years since their Christmas Town tradition began in the mid-nineties. The locals will be ready to welcome in a whole new batch a visitors this year come December 1st- will you be joining them?
