Jetblue Passengers Shocked After Plane ‘Pops a Wheelie’ at JFK

We've never seen this before!

We've seen commercial jets performing dramatic feats before under frightening conditions, from emergency landings sans landing gear to turbulent and terrifying touchdowns in the midst of dangerous weather. But have you ever seen an otherwise normal jet plane suddenly... pop a wheelie?

JetBlue passengers at NYC's John F Kennedy Airport did shortly after their plane touched down on the night of October 22. An eyewitness video, shared to TikTok by the New York Post, shows the large passenger jet inexplicably leaning way back on its tail!

As if sitting near the back of the plane wasn't already a bumpy ride as is! The @nypost clip, originally shared on the Citizen app, shows the large JetBlue plane at the gate, connected to the jet bridge- yet leaning back on its tail, looking as if it was "popping a wheelie."

The JetBlue flight had just arrived at JFK Airport from Barbados when things started going topsy-turvy. Derek Dombroswki, a spokesperson for JetBlue, explained what went wrong to the New York Post:

"Once at the gate, due to a shift in weight and balance during deplaning, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward, causing the nose of the aircraft to lift up and eventually return back down, " Drombowski clarified. He later added in an email that "no injuries were reported", and the aircraft had been temporarily taken out of service for inspection.

While the balance shift led to a frightening sight for the passengers fresh from their Caribbean vacations, all of them would make it home safely, and normal operations at the airport would go uninterrupted by this bizarre airplane incident. I guess all's well that upends well!
