Travel Expert Shares iPhone Travel Tricks for a More Stress-Free Trip
As much fun as it can be to visit somewhere new, not all travel is fun — even when you're heading out on vacation. Getting from point A to point B is stressful, especially when a trip to the airport is involved, and there can be a lot of pressure put on a trip to be the best ever after you've looked forward to it for months and spent so much money making sure that every last detail is perfect.
But when it comes to eliminating just a bit of that stress, if you have an iPhone, there are a few simple things you could do that will only take a few minutes before leaving home. This TikTok video, shared on Saturday, September 30, outlines them all, and it's hard to believe I've been traveling all this time without even being aware that some of these options exist.
Travel expert @rileejsmith shared her iPhone travel hacks in this video, starting with a really easy way to track your flight — yes, even easier than logging into an airline app. This one is super simple: Just text your flight number to someone, and anytime they (or you) click on it, they will instantly pull up the flight tracking, including when you're supposed to depart and arrive. Amazing!
There's also an iPhone camera setting that will translate anything from maps to restaurant menus in real time. Go to camera settings, and turn on the "show detected text" option. Then, open your camera and click the button in the right corner, click translate, and it will translate whatever the camera happens to be pointed at. This is magical, truly — and a must for international vacations.
And if you've downloaded the new iOS 17, you may not have discovered this super useful feature. By inserting a "check in" into your text message, it will let the person know when you've arrived to a certain location and can also remind you to check in with that person at a certain time, and if you don't, it will send an alert to them to check on you.
These aren't just making travel easier, they're also huge safety tips that could really be a lifesaver the next time you're on a trip. This is good information to have!
