Hidden Bar on the Ocean in Baja Is an Easy Day Trip From Southern California

We love highlighting hidden gems and secret spots off the beaten path in and around SoCal. When people get burned out of the constant noise of Los Angeles, there are so many options nearby they can choose to get away and unwind. If you don't mind going south of the border, we're highlighting an amazing spot in Baja California that's a day trip away from LA or San Diego.

TikTok user @elisolanotravels typically highlights destinations in SoCal. However, today he's taking us down Mexico way to a gorgeous hidden bar and restaurant in Baja that sits right over the Pacific Ocean.

Ok, this place is gorgeous, totally dreamy- the architecture has that New World Spanish feel, and you've got a stunning view of the crashing waves. The breezes there must be so refreshing. Eli claims this spot is just 2.5 hours from LA... but he doesn't drop the name! Come on, Eli, what's our destination?

Thankfully, some considerate commenters clued everyone else in. "Los Portales De Garcia for anyone that wanna go," clarified @freshredmangos. Thanks! Los Portales is specifically in Rosarito, an area already known for its nightlife and, naturally, its amazing beaches. The competition out there must be stiff- how does Los Portales measure up with its visitors?

"Los Portales definitely a must! Love the vibe there," recommended @naye1130. "Drinks are great, service is great, and they play great music. Overall a great atmosphere, the view is everything," @alepaloozaa reviewed- a glowing recommendation. "And now that they’ve added a 3rd level, it’s even more amazing. This place is mainly about the view, the drinks, the music, and good vibes," added @legendlu3.

Seems like it's a hit in that part of Baja California! If you like, you can visit the official Los Portales De Garcia website, though be advised that it is in Spanish only. If you love food, fun, and fresh sea breezes, it's the place to be in Rosarito!
