Little-Known Secret Tied to Disneyland Wishing Well Is a Cool Piece of History

It's located in Snow White's grotto.

There are a lot of things to love about Disneyland in California — after all, it was the first Disney park ever built, and the only one that Walt Disney was ever able to visit in its completed form. Sprinkled through the park is so much history and so many cool details, and as someone who has visited quite a few times, one of my favorite areas of the park is Snow White's grotto, an area featuring a waterfall, statues of the original princess and her seven dwarfs, and, of course, her wishing well.

You may have heard the song Snow White sings in the movie that plays in this area every so often, but you might not know the story behind it. It's such a cool piece of trivia involving Adriana Caselotti, who voices the character.

On Tuesday, October 4, @disneycicerone shared the story of what happened when Caselotti recorded the song, called "Wishing Well," for this area of the Disneyland park. In 1983, she had to rerecord the song, but obviously, by then, her voice sounded much different — she had been 18 years old when she voiced Snow White in 1937, after all.

"Worried she was going to get replaced, she looked up at the sky and said, 'Mr. Disney, if you're up there, please help me find Snow White's voice.' Her next take was perfect, and that's what you hear at Disneyland today," the OP said.

Considering the fact that Walt Disney had been dead for nearly 20 years at that point, maybe he sent her the princess energy she needed from the beyond!

In the Fantasyland area of the park, you can see more of the character in her very own dark ride, Snow White's Enchanted Wish, and she can also be found out and about, meeting guests.

Pretty cool stuff!
