Woman Shares Horrific Experience at Hotel Near Disneyland

Lesson learned: read the reviews.

The parks might seem similar to an outsider, but visiting Disneyland in California and visiting Disney World in Florida are two very different things. One of the biggest differences between planning these trips (besides the fact that the parks are on opposite coasts) is figuring out where you're going to stay. While Disney World offers tons of resorts on property to meet all kinds of budgets, Disneyland isn't the same — all three of its official resorts are pretty pricy, which means most visitors end up staying somewhere in walking distance... and fortunately, there are plenty of options.

But when one woman chose one of these hotels, she ended up with major regrets. In fact, it was so bad that she ended up checking out almost as soon as she arrived, and now, she's trying to save us the same grief by sharing her story on TikTok.

On Monday, October 23, @themouselets shared what happened when she and her sister stayed at a Marriott chain hotel during their Disneyland trip... and what made them find somewhere else to stay as quickly as they could after their arrival.

As soon as they made it to their room, they discovered that there were signs that it hadn't been fully cleaned, like items that previous guests had left behind. This led to them examining their hotel room more closely, They found bugs (fortunately not bed bugs), dirty towels, and stains on the mattress.

She also shared that she made one major mistake: She didn't read the reviews of the hotel before booking it, thinking that since it was a Marriott, it was a safe pick. But she couldn't have been more wrong, because if she had read those reviews, she would have seen that people complained about rats in their room — and we're not talking about Mickey Mouse.

Fortunately, the hotel manager was kind enough to let her check out with a full refund, and they were able to find another place to stay nearby.

She didn't share the name of the hotel so that she wasn't putting them on blast, but given that she shared the reviews feature a photo of one of the rats a guest found in the room, it should be easy enough to find if you're looking for a place to stay in Anaheim.

Lesson learned: Always read the reviews. It's worth the extra effort!
