Feline Airbnb ‘Host’ in the Appalachians Is Taking the Internet by Storm
Can you remember your favorite Airbnb host? Many of us have dealt with Airbnb hosts that were less than ideal, but what about the great ones that became a memorable part of the vacation experience itself? Bad hosts stick out like a sore thumb, but it takes a really, really exceptional host to make a lasting positive impression.
Luckily, viral Airbnb host Cinnamon has the cuteness factor on his side. On March 19, positive news aggregator Jenn spilled the tea on the internet's new favorite Airbnb host, who also doubles as possibly the cutest tour guide to ever walk on four legs!
Normally, dealing with an abnormally clingy Airbnb host would sound like the beginning of an Airbnb horror story. That isn't a problem here, though, because Cinnamon is, as @thatgoodnewsgirl describes him, a "very professional orange cat." Cinnamon's affectionate and friendly demeanor has earned a nearly perfect rating on Airbnb from his guests, because who doesn't love a convivial cat?
But that alone isn't the reason why Cinnamon is famous - after all, there are plenty of Airbnb pet "mascots" out there. Cinnamon earned his internet fame by doubling as a surprisingly fantastic tour guide. His Airbnb is located along the Appalachian Trail in New York's Hudson Valley, and guests have reported that Cinnamon is incredibly knowledgeable about the local trails, even meowing at hikers if they start to stray off of the path and leading them back home if they get too turned around!
A good Airbnb host looks out for their guests, and that's exactly what Cinnamon does. He's a friendly host, a great tour guide, and for all the jokes people make about orange cats lacking brain cells, he seems to have a pretty good head on his little kitty shoulders!
Staying in the Countryside with Cinnamon
As a cat lover, I was instantly sold. I don't currently have plans for an Appalachian Trail hike, but if that changes, I know exactly where I'll stay. Perhaps you're already planning on taking a nice natural getaway, and want to stay somewhere with a host you can trust. Don't worry- I've got you covered.
Cinnamon's Airbnb is Foxglove Farm, a cozy place in Phillipstown, New York (about an hour and a half's drive north of New York City). Its current 4.88 rating and the "Guest Favorite" badge speak to the cozy abode's popularity with its guests. The home itself is beautiful, rustic, and a little retro, but the surrounding property (and the countryside beyond) is stunning. Superhost Trisha (aka Cinnamon's human servant) is an ethnobotanist and herbalist, and has beautiful gardens planted all over the property.
There aren't many mentions of Cinnamon on the Airbnb page itself (though there is a very handsome photo of him in the album). Check the guest reviews, though: in between praising the property and luxurious amenities like the hot tub and fire pit, dozens of guests shouted out Foxglove Farm's friendly felines (yes, Cinnamon has a little buddy named Hudson who also helps lead walks through the woods).
An idyllic country getaway, hosted by a wise, friendly cat? Sounds like a dream come true to me. Maybe I will start planning out my next vacation after all...
