Carnival Cruise Passengers Horrified After Waking Up to Cabin Flooding at 2am
Many people consider cruise vacations some of the most relaxing you can take — me included. It's really nice to have everything you need within walking distance, spend your days in the spa and relaxing by the pool, and check out some gorgeous beaches along the way. But like any other vacation, things can and do go wrong on cruise ships... and some mishaps are certainly much, much worse than others.
Case in point: The major flooding that some cruise passengers had to deal with during their vacation that could have easily ruined the entire trip. One woman took to TikTok last week to share what was going on, and it looks absolutely horrifying. Titanic vibes are not really what you want while you're on a ship in the middle of the ocean...
This woman, @dawn7877, was on the Carnival Cruise ship, Radiance, when massive flooding happened in her cruise cabin. And as we can see, it wasn't just her stateroom that was affected — the flooding seems to be all around her, including in the hallways. What a mess!
According to her caption, four hours later, no one from the staff had filled them in on the problem or when they could expect it to be resolved, and as she shared in a follow up video, it only seemed to get worse.
In the second video, we can see that not only is the carpet in her room all the way soaked through, but the water level only seems to be rising. The situation got so bad that they ended up losing power in the process.
"At 2 AM we were woken up with water gushing into our room from the ceiling on the Carnival Radiance. Security in this video telling me I can’t record. it was absolutely terrifying. Still waiting on corporate to contact us," she explained in her caption.
So far, it's not clear what happened next — or if this cruiser managed to get any kind of resolution from the cruise line. In the past, Carnival has refunded customers, along with other perks like offering credits for future cruises, in situations like this, so hopefully, they will make it right this time too.
Still, refund or no refund, this clearly isn't the ideal vacation, despite the fact that flooding on cruise ships has happened many times before. What a bummer!
