Scary Video of Baby Stroller Rolling Into Traffic in California Is Heart-Stopping

The baby's aunt fell trying to catch the child.

The idea of watching something horrible happening to a child in your life who you love is practically unimaginable, but accidents happen all the time. And fortunately, even when we can't stop them ourselves, there are sometimes good samaritans around who will help us out. This news report from @abc7newsbayarea on TikTok is a wonderful example of that.

As we can see in this video from a local San Francisco ABC affiliate, a woman was getting a baby out of the car when the baby's stroller began rolling into traffic thanks to heavy winds — with the baby inside of it. She tried to grab the stroller before it was too late, but fell on the asphalt and struggled getting up.

We found out that the baby was with their great aunt, who was older, which made her struggle all the more understandable. But thankfully, someone nearby saw what happened — Ron Nessman, a man watching from a car wash — and sprang into action, rescuing the baby just as the stroller was about to roll into oncoming traffic moving at 40 mph.

Nessman shared a bit of his story on camera, revealing that he is a former truck driver who became homeless after his girlfriend died, and is only now just getting back on his feet. And despite his own struggle, he still did everything he could to prevent this family from something tragic. There's no doubt that he's a hero.

We're so glad to see that this baby is safe and sound. We're so thankful that someone like Nessman was around to help.
