Amtrak’s Winter Sale Is Offering ‘Ultra-Low’ Fares Between Certain Cities
For those who hate driving on long road trips but can't stand the hassle of air travel, taking the train can seem like a happy medium as far as long distance travel options go. In America, however, ticket prices with companies like Amtrak can be pretty steep, with some long-distance routes costing as much- if not more- than a round-trip plane ticket for the same route!
However, Amtrak fans may be in luck this winter- if they move fast, that is. On November 14, Pennsylvanian news source Keystone Newsroom shared an exciting update about Amtrak's price-slashing Winter Sale, which ends later tonight (November 15). These ticket prices are unbelievable- in a good way!
That's right- tons of Amtrak trip tickets are selling for dirt-cheap right now, but you've gotta act fast. This incredible flash sale ends tonight, so time is running short. If you're ready to move on some sweet travel deals fast, though, you can score a whole lot for just a little!
According to the @keystonenewsroom, fares are starting as low as $17 for routes between Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia. Some shorter routes are even cheaper: one-way sample fares between Boston and Providence are currently going for as low as $4!
Amtrak's deals aren't only relegated to routes in the Northeast/New England, however. This slash sale is cutting ticket prices on routes across the country. For example, one-way trips between Chicago and Los Angeles are currently going for as little as $123. If you've ever wanted to take a cross-country train trip, now's your chance to do so on the cheap!
These flash sale rates apply to travel dates between December 4 and March 15 of next year- just in time for the December holiday travel rush. The Amtrak website includes lots of sample fares, but you can also use their fare finder to look up specific routes. But book your tickets quick- after tonight, these low, low rates are going up in smoke!
