Travel Agent's 3 Tips for Booking an Alaskan Cruise Are Totally On-Point

The first one could honestly make or break the trip.

For many of us, an Alaskan cruise is a once in a lifetime trip — they're not exactly sailing out of every port, the season for these types of cruises is relatively short, and they can be pretty expensive, after all. So it makes sense that, if you're planning one, you don't want to take any chances. Every last detail needs to be in order before you board that boat!

If you're feeling the pressure of making sure your future Alaskan cruise goes smoothly, you'll want to see this video from @smartcruiser on TikTok. This travel agent is sharing her three most important tips for booking your cruise, and they could save you a lot of headaches along the way.

For example, if you're trying to avoid being seasick, she recommends booking an Inside passage route, which should offer a smoother ride. She also shared that booking with a cruise line that is specifically dedicated to Alaska, because not all ships will be able to visit the areas of the state that are the most beautiful to visit.

Finally, she recommended shelling out the extra cash for a stateroom with a balcony, since the views are so incredible that you'll want to be able to walk right outside and see them at your whim (and sometimes, you'll be able to see marine life like humpback whales while you stand out there!).

Others seemed to agree with her tips, leaving their own feedback in the comments of the video.

"Only a balcony will do for Alaska, and the ship inches along the whole time, getting sea sick is highly unlikely," one person wrote.
