Woman Hilariously Nails Every Airbnb Welcome Binder in a Spot-On Parody
Picture it: you're just crossed the threshold into your Airbnb, ready to set down your luggage, kick off your walking shoes, and shift into full-on vacation mode. Oh, but wait- before you can settle in or really start to do anything around your temporary home away from home, you've first gotta flip through.. the welcome binder.
Many an Airbnb guest has had to kick off their stay with a hefty pile of homework. After a while, you start to notice that all of these binders have the same... cadence? Vibe? Content? Heck, all of the above. Comedian Becca Herries perfectly parodied the standard Airbnb welcome binder in a LOL-worthy October 25 TikTok!
I could practically see the binder pages flipping in front of me throughout this video. I'm guessing @beccaherries is a seasoned Airbnb guest, because she parodied the typical Airbnb welcome binder perfectly!
Really, though, the stuff she riffed on isn't all bad. I'm not going to fault an Airbnb host having a generic but easy-to-remember wifi password... better that then the factory-preset jumble of letters and numbers. And while not all Airbnbs include a hot tub, you'd definitely hope that the previous guests showered beforehand if there is one! Of course, I don't see how hosts could enforce that rule or even check without, you know, hidden cameras...
But the little gripes, no matter how minor, really resonated with Becca's audience. The random selection of condiments, the stacks of board games that are all missing pieces... and the unfortuante piece de resistance of every Airbnb welcome binder, the weird cleaning stipulations. Not that Airbnb guests shouldn't tidy up before checking out, but seriously: the whole "geocaching the trash repository in another town" bit wasn't that far from the truth...
No, seriously: "The last one we stayed at had US drive the garbage to a garbage dump SEVERAL miles away, we had to pay to get rid of our garbage!" claimed TikTok viewer @embolism85.
Of course, not all the comments were relegated to guests throwing shade. Even some Airbnb hosts admitted that Becca hit the nail on the head. "We rent our camp and I am totally embarassed with how accurate this is," @pm_thor owned up.
However, Becca's response to this bashful host was quite gracious: "Having said that, there is a good reason for all of these guidelines! I just love looking at that welcome binder when I come in."
Really, we can't fault Airbnb hosts for laying down the law when it comes to their properties. Still, maybe it'd help if some hosts didn't demand garbage dump runs of their guests...
