Airbnb Host Finds Most Horrific Suprise Hiding Under the Bed in His Rental
It seems like being an Airbnb guest doesn't come with quite as many perks these days as it one did... but being an Airbnb host doesn't really seem like the ideal gig all the time, either. Dealing with guests who aren't always kind can't be fun, and neither can making sure that the property is ready to go for the next set of guests after someone checks out. Not everyone leaves the house as they found it when they go, after all.
And then, there are situations like this one, which would leave even the most experienced host a bit baffled. As one man shared in this TikTok video, he discovered someone hiding under a bed in one of his rentals after his last guests checked out, and things got so serious that he was forced to get the police involved. This is so scary!
An Airbnb host who goes by @ricanluis shared footage of what happened in this video on Friday, November 3. He seems to be standing outside of the house that he rents to guests, looking through the window to see a man who is lying under one of the beds and was even in the process of charging his phone while hiding out there.
"Hey, you gotta get out from under the bed, bro," the man calls to him from outside of the house, but the man didn't respond... or even give any indication that he had plans to move anytime soon.
In another video, the OP shared that he called police to the residence, who were able to apprehend the man and get him in handcuffs. And though the host told him that he just wanted to know how he got there and shared that he didn't plan to press charges, the man wasn't willing to give up much info... except for sharing that the guests had let him in before they left.
We can see the owner of the home talking to the police in yet another follow up video, explaining that they had come over to clean when they discovered the man, and the previous renters said that the man had told them he was homeless so they let him in — which, of course, was obviously against the Airbnb rules.
While plenty of commenters seemed to disagree with the owner deciding against pressing charges, It seems like he didn't want to bring unnecessary trouble to someone who is already struggling, which is a lot more compassion than others may have had in this situation.
This could have had a much scarier ending. If you're planning to stay in an Airbnb in the near future instead of a hotel room, you may want to check the entire place over carefully before you unpack and get comfortable. You never know who might be hiding there!
